Taking Stock – February 2016

IMG_7927It’s been a long while since I’ve done one of these posts and my sisters both did this via email over the last few days – filling each other in on what’s been going on in our lives, so I figured I should do it too and publish it as a blog post of course!  Cause that’s the only way to know what is going on in the Fealy Family – read the blog or via Facebook ;-).  Plus – I figured the end of February is as good a time as any to take a moment and have a think about how things have been going round these parts – the wheels have fallen off in a few areas, but doing ok in others – pretty much the norm for us I guess.  The dream is to have all aspects of our life rolling along well at the same time!!  Ok – so here goes – a bit of fun/procrastination for a Sunday morning!

Taking Stock

Making : Eggs and Avocado on toast for everybody for breakfast – LOVE avo season!
Cooking : Need to turn the oven on to preaheat so I can make a packet mix cake or scones for morning tea as have a friend coming to do a Skype call with me regarding some potential work for me – could be exciting!
Drinking : Waaaaaay Toooo many V’s!
Reading: “The Little Paris” Bookshop by Nina George – not really grabbing me.  But I am happy to be getting through my ‘Books to Read in 2016’ list plus a few extra’s.
Wanting: A weekend away with Matt (no kids) to sleep, eat healthy, yummy food that I don’t have to cook, talk and plan and walk along the beach!  Any maybe have time to write a few blogs posts that are bubbling away in my head!
Looking: At the mess all around the computer on the dining table and knowing there are so many things I should be doing!
Playing: just played the YouTube clip of Kelly Clarkson’s new song which made Keith Urban cry on American Idol – was lovely!

Deciding: What we should have for tea – Corn Meat and veges I think.
Wishing: I could take the laptop and a book and head to a cafe at the beach for the day to read and write to my heart’s content!
Enjoying: The lovely quiet house while Matt has the kids out with him in the ute doing a few jobs around the farm.
Waiting: To hear the gate clang and know the kids are just about to come in!
Liking: Podcasts!  They are terrific for my one hour drive to and from work a few times a week!  Am loving these ‘No Filter’, ‘I don’t know how she does it’ and ‘Conversations with Richard Fidler’ and heaps more.  Here’s a beginner’s guide to podcasts if you are interested!
Wondering:  If I have the necessary drive and discipline to make a go of my own business!
Loving: Having a whole weekend at home with no plans – so rare – aargh and hockey season starts soon!
Pondering: If I am brave enough to have a go at presenting a session at a Rural Women’s conference later this year?
Considering: Booking a week at Mission Beach after Easter and just crossing our fingers that the avocado season will be done by then?
Watching: Half of the first Harry Potter movie with the kids last night before I had to go to bed because of a terrible headache!
Hoping: That one day in the future we will hit the road again as a family for at least three or more months!
Marvelling: At how fast the years are flying by!
Needing: To make it a priority to fit some exercise into my life everyday!
Smelling: Too many stinky nappies!
Wearing: Daggy old house clothes.
Following: Elizabeth Gilbert (author of Eat, Pray, Love) on Facebook – love some of the things she has to say!
Noticing: I have a headache.
Knowing: That I have two BAS’s (Business Activity Statements) for clients to finish in the next 24 hours!
Thinking: I need to start making some money out of all the things I am doing!
Feeling: A little overwhelmed with all the things I have to do.
Admiring: My sister’s for their good exercise and eating habits!
Sorting: Through a huge box of client’s invoices, receipts etc.  Pretty big job, but I do get a kick out of it – call me crazy!
Buying: Going to go online and order some more books when I finish this.
Getting: Frustrated at all the things I want to do and my lack of direction!
Bookmarking: Small business websites to check out later.
Disliking: That my email inbox is out of control once again!  Over 4,000 emails – aaaaaargh!
Opening: A stack of mail that I had let pile up yesterday – nothing exciting – just bills, bank statements and insurance documents!
Giggling: At Kipp and his funny ways and facial expressions.  He makes us all smile (most of the time!)
Feeling: Fat and unhealthy.
Snacking: Maltesers (obviously why I’m feeling the way I am!)
Coveting: A kindle, a new laptop and a family holiday!
Wishing: I was rich and could go on holidays, buy a farm and buy my family all the things they wanted too!
Helping: Run our local Scout Group – it is turning into a big job!
Hearing: The washing machine filling up with yet another load!

Happy Weekend everybody – hope you have a nice relaxing Sunday planned – have a go at ‘Taking Stock’  if you have time – it’s quite interesting to see your answers!
