Tonight’s Sunday Snapshot is a photo of Kipp and I, up in the avocado orchard with Matt late this afternoon. It was my favourite part of the day today, riding through the rows with Matt, checking out the fruit on the trees and trying to decide if we have enough avocados ready for us to head in and do a spot pick of any fruit big enough to be packed. It was peaceful, not too hot and just lovely – Blue Sky Beau the dog racing the bike up the rows, chasing the kangaroos and the sun just starting to set – the best time of day in the orchard.
I’m posting this picture after being inspired by this post by Maxabella Loves. It is all about how so many mums are missing from the photos of their children’s childhoods, mostly because they don’t like seeing the way they look in the photos. I’m guessing there are a few Dad’s who feel like this too.
I’m totally guilty of this – I really don’t like seeing my messy hair, tired eyes, tuckshop lady arms and how much older I look, but even worse is looking back through all of our zillions of photos and realising I’m in hardly any of them!
So, I felt like a bit of a dork, but today I asked Matt to take this photo of Kipp and I, I’m getting back #inthepicture – what about you?
Thank you Maxabella Loves for the reminder and this beautiful clip!
Great photo to start with Jess! Beaut description of the afternoon too. I would’ve liked to have been there the way you describe it.
Thanks Bern – I guess if I can get past the messy hair and chubby arms the photo is not bad! Yep – love being up in the orchard late in the afternoon – don’t get out there often enough!
Great photo Jess and yes I hate being in the picture too but also don’t like never being in the photos either! Sounds like a nice afternoon.

“Tickshop lady arms”??!!! Never heard of ’em… Never seen ’em.. They’re a myth created by some skinny person..LOL!!! Kipp looks like he is getting ready to take control of the quad bike. Not longer before he does!
